Why Would Joe Schimmel Go On GodTV?
Since we have been kindly asked to respond as to why Joe would appear on GodTV, we thought it was necessary to explain what led to the interview and why Joe decided to ultimately make an appearance on the show.
In 2016, Pastor Joe Schimmel participated in a debate with Dr. Doug Stauffer at the Prophecy in the News Conference in Colorado Springs, CO. The debate was concerning the timing of the rapture and ended up being a wonderfully fruitful discussion that benefited many in the body of Christ. During the conference, Pastor Joe was asked – as well as every other speaker at the conference – to take part in some interviews that were being recorded about the apocalypse and the end times. An Open Letter to Thomas Ice and the Pre-Trib Research Center
Earlier this yeari, arising from the 2015 release of the video documentary “Left Behind or Led Astray?” which chronicled the history and origin of the Pretribulational Rapture Teaching, Pre-Trib Research Center director Dr Thomas Ice, on the Berean Call radio show, on the basis of his own interpretation of 2 Thessalonians 2:3, publicly challenged Pastor Joe Schimmel for the $10,000 offered in the documentary to anyone who could find a biblical text clearly supporting a pretribulational timing for the Rapture event. This challenge initiated an informal debate between Pastor Joe Schimmel of Blessed Hope Chapel and himself concerning the subject of Dr Ice’s contention that the apostasia in 2 Thessalonians 2:3 refers not to a departure from the faith, but a spatial departure into Heaven, namely the Rapture.
Subsequent to this, Dr Ice issued a formal challenge to Pastor Schimmel to formally and publicly debate Pretrib history and origins at the upcoming Pre-Trib Research Center Prophecy Conference in December 2016. Dr Ice had already selected Dr Paul Wilkinson as a debate partner, and Pastor Schimmel was considering bible expositor Jacob Prasch, while at the same time issuing a counter challenge that the scriptural basis for the Pretrib Rapture should also be debated as well. After negotiation it was agreed that there should be two debates: one to discuss Pretrib history and origins; and another to deal with the scriptural issues and concerns.

An Eye Opening Rebuttal to The Berean Call’s Critique of Left Behind or Led Astray
On August 29, 2015 Dr. Paul Wilkinson spoke at The Berean Call Conference. He used much of his time in an attempt to discredit our new DVD, “Left Behind or Led Astray?: Examining the Origins of the Secret Pre-Tribulation Rapture.” During the Q & A session T.A. McMahon joined in on the discussion and had some additional remarks concerning our DVD.
This roundtable discussion featuring Joe Schimmel, Jacob Prasch and John Haller is our official response to Dr. Paul Wilkinson and T.A. McMahon of The Berean Call. Both Wilkinson and T.A. McMahon made some very concerning comments to which we felt it necessary to officially respond.

Dear Tom McMahon,
I watched with great dismay the “Livestream from the August 2015 Berean Call Conference where Paul Wilkinson “critiqued” the newly released video by Joe Schimmel, “Left Behind or Led Astray?: Examining The Origins of the Secret Pretribulation Rapture.”
I put the word critiqued in quotes because it was anything but a critique of the video itself. Instead it was a personal attack on the character of Joe Schimmel and the others who contributed to the production of the video. (more…)
Use of the Early Church Fathers and a Jesuit Conspiracy

An article critical of our new DVD Left Behind or Led Astray? posted by Miguel Hayworth for UK Apologetics Library begins friendly enough, with a statement in the beginning paragraph, “I will say that many people have said that the work that Joe Schimmel produced on the Satanic Agenda in Hollywood and the music industry to be commendable and the work he did on gay rights.”
However, most of the article deals with two main criticisms of the DVD: (1) “not all the early church fathers are listed in the film due to its content on one subject, what the film omits is that there are some of early Church Fathers are listed the Great Fathers … who were also called the “Eight Doctors of the Church” are regarded as the basis for the what was later to be recognized as the formation of the Roman Catholic Church, it eventually led later to the formation of Vatican 1…” and (2) “Joe Schimmel is promoting the idea that a Jesuit who is often seen to be representative of RCC had an agenda to push the Pre-trib view…”
